Y dont ppl realize that unemployment is down cuz reservists and nation guard are shown as employed s

They are counted as still being employed while someone else is doing their thousands and thousands of jobs. So what do you think will happen to unemployment rate when they return back to their jobs

Y dont ppl realize that unemployment is down cuz reservists and nation guard are shown as employed still,but..cheap loans

In a sense, I understand what you are saying...

With so many military members being sent overseas, Justin h is suggesting that the voids of their absenses from jobs are being filled temporarily by the unemployed and that when they return, unemployment will go up.

I disagree.

Military members that are called to active duty that have jobs in the private sector are guarenteed their jobs upon their return unless they are not able...because they are guarenteed employment, most employers wont hire temporary work because it costs too much and takes too much time to train someone who is just filling in.

Also, keep in mind that there are over 8 million letters going to businesses about employees who%26#039;s name does not match their given social security number. If the businesses act as they ethicly should, even more jobs should become available due to fraudulent employment.

With the conflict being such as it is, I would expect that one of two things are about to happen:

1) the build-up of troops is going to be a measure of reinforcements so we will not see your theory any time soon.

or

2) the build-up of troops is going to be a measure of reinforcements so we can safely extract the troops- in which case your theory will be tested sooner than you expected.

Personally, I%26#039;d bet on #1 until the Iraqi government appears (not %26quot;is%26quot;) able to sustain itself.

Answerman has a point- the unemployment rate only triggers on those eligible to collect it, but the job market is also opening up (just not the upper wage positions).

huh?|||That doesn%26#039;t even make sense. How many reservists and guardsmen do you think have been mobilized? They would account for a VERY small fraction of a difference in the total employment - certainly not nearly 1/10 of a percent.|||Nothing. They%26#039;ll just actually be there instead of just being counted like they are.|||If every single Guard and Reserve were considered employed and were deployed it would still be a tiny percentage of the population and could not effect employment numbers.|||I have no doubt that I should doubt any numbers that the gov presents on the economy. The current debt is claimed to be ~8.5t. As insane as that is, I%26#039;m sure it%26#039;s worse due to off-budget spending.|||uh, jonas j is right, do the calculations|||people don%26#039;t realize because they don%26#039;t WANT to know, they don%26#039;t want to take a real look at our society, our poverty levels and our unemployment levels, for a very simple reason... FEAR... there%26#039;s very fine line between the rich and the poor and no one wants to think the %26#039;what if it happened to me%26#039; thoughts.|||wow you bumped your head!|||Hey moonbat, stay away from moveon.org. You%26#039;re sounding just as loonie as they do.|||OK, like you want Soldiers to come home unemployed now or something?

Could you Bi-Polar Socialist-Liberals just go to your %26quot;Happy Place%26quot; or something?|||WTF??|||You have to also remember that unemployed are counted different now. They are now counting only those that are on unemployment insurance and not everybody that has run out, the economy is really in an awful mess, there is many, many more unemployed then what is being counted. More personal bankruptcy%26#039;s. More homes being repossessed, the real estate market has dried up and it is very difficult to sell a house. The stock market is inflated but that is not a good indicator of the state of the economy.|||The military is only a fraction of the population jack-off! Why wouldn%26#039;t they be counted as employed? They ARE employed!|||Maybe while he was off fighting, illegal immigrants moved in and took his job, maybe yours will be the next.
